TERMS AND CONDITIONS

availability – we do not guarantee that a particular holiday will be available. Please check availability before booking.
booking – you may book in any of the following ways:

By fax – fax the booking form to us on 01278 732228
By post – complete the booking form and send to The Old Cider House, 25 Castle Street, Nether Stowey, Somerset TA5 1LN

The contract between us will be made as soon as we have received your booking, your payment as detailed below and we have confirmed acceptance of your booking. We will hold open any telephone, e-mail or fax booking for 5 working days pending receipt of payment.
payment – this may be made by a cheque drawn on a UK bank account in Stirling, bankers draft or building society cheque or UK postal order. Please contact us in relation to making payment by credit* or debit card. (*a charge of 2% is added to all credit card transactions). Cheques should be made payable to: Real Ale Walks (walking breaks), Stowey Brewery Limited (brewery workshops) and The Old Cider House (B&B).
A deposit of 50% per person is required with each booking form. We will send you an invoice for the balance. The balance must be paid within 6 weeks of the first day of your holiday with us. Failure to make payment will be treated as a cancellation. If you book within 6 weeks of the start of the first day of your holiday the full amount of the holiday/break price will be due.
Currently, our holiday prices do not include a VAT element. Should VAT become due we reserve the right to make an appropriate charge.
The first named applicant shall be responsible for payment in the event of any default or non-payment.
payment security – should you request, your payments to us will be held in a separate bank account until the completion of your holiday with us. We believe that this act is sufficient to comply with the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992.
cancellation by us – we reserve the right to cancel your holiday if there are insufficient numbers of participants for the break/event. If we do this we will let you know as soon as possible and promptly refund the money paid to us by you.
We also reserve the right to cancel this contract at any time if you misbehave or are disruptive and any further liability we may have to you will be extinguished in this event.
cancellation by you – all cancellations by you must be in writing and will take effect on the day we receive written notification. The deposit will be forfeited on cancellation. Cancellation within 6 weeks of the break will attract the following cancellation fees:
> 42 days before – 50% of holiday price
42 – 14 days before – 75% of holiday price
14 days or less – 100% of holiday price
health and safety requirements – as with any activity holiday there may be risks and you must accept a certain element of risk. We do all within our power to minimise those risks. However, you may be required to sign a waiver and this is a condition of participating on a real ale break.
loss and damage – we do not accept any liability for any loss or damage except any loss or damage which may be negligently caused by us or any person employed or contracted by us.
information in the brochure – we believe the contents of this information sheet are correct at the time of publication. We do, however, reserve the right to make changes to the break programmes and prices if appropriate.
governing law – this contract is governed by the laws of England and the English courts have jurisdiction to hear any matter arising from these terms and conditions or representation in this brochure.
data protection – we reserve the right to use your contact details for the purposes of marketing our holidays.
